New Class Added: Teen Truth, an Inside Look at Bullying and Violence

Great News!  We have just added a new option during the Professional Growth & Development Session on Friday, April 25th from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. TEEN TRUTH: An Inside Look at Bullying & School Violence--This thought provoking experience pairs an award-winning film with a motivational talk from TEEN TRUTH's Executive Producer & Co-Founder, JC Pohl.  Since its launch in 2006, TEEN TRUTH has developed a raw, empowering approach that has helped schools, corporations, and government organizations across North America better understand the issue of bullying. Using multi-media, proven psychology and powerful truths, this program will challenge you to think about how you treat others and empower you to find ways to be the difference in your school community.  Attend this session to learn how to motivate your members to not only combat the issue of bullying on campus, but also diffuse it when issues arise in your PTA. Also don’t forget our other class option! Does Your Communication Style Help or Hinder Your Effectiveness / Leadership Capabilities? Laura Katen, president of Katen Consulting, a NY-based training company that specializes in helping individuals to exude a professional presence, will share valuable information to help convention attendees better understand that they can control how others perceive them by how they present themselves and communicate information; share strategies that attendees can immediately use to strengthen communication and build rapport with others; facilitate interactive exercises and discussions that will help attendees to more fully understand, practice, and apply key techniques presented.
