QUESTION:
If
our PTA made less than $50,000 in income, are we required to file the
Charitable Organization Registration Renewal that is due May 31st?
ANSWER:
If your income is under $50,000 then you are
not required to register with the Secretary of State Charities Program. The WSPTA does recommend that you update your
PTA’s information by completing the Optional Registration/Renewal with the
Secretary of State Charities Program.
If you have filed the Charitable Registration Renewal last
year because your income was over $50,000, and this year your income is under
$50,000, then you should complete the Optional Registration to update your
PTA’s information with the Secretary of State office.
