Child Safety Focus: Preventing Window Falls

Temperatures are warming up across the state and we wanted to remind you of an important safety tip to be aware of at this time of year. Window falls account for approximately eight deaths and 3,300 injuries among children ages five and under annually, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission. A local story highlights how quickly these falls can happen, and may occur even when the window has a screen: Toddler falls from second-floor window. The Stop at 4 website has lots of great resources for preventing window falls. www.stopat4.com. Please help us spread the word and keep our children safe.
